The Savaria Pegasus inclined platform lift provides wheelchair access over stairs that feature curves, changes of direction, intermediate landings or multiple levels. The platform folds up when not in use, and can be parked out the way. With a choice of platform size, including an ADA-compliant size, the Pegasus lift can make your public building accessible. Ideal when a vertical lift or elevator cannot be used, the Pegasus lift can be installed indoors and outside in moderate climates.

On-demand wheelchair lift travels over stairs

Minimal construction required

No machine room is needed as the Pegasus wheelchair lift’s motor and drive controller can be installed at the top landing in a small cabinet. This saves space and reduces construction costs.

Safety features

An obstruction sensor system on the platform stops the lift if it encounters any objects during travel, while the overspeed governor ensures that the lift does not exceed the designated speed on descent. Limit switches stop the lift at each landing and also provide additional back-up to stop the lift if either limit switches fail. The non-skid platform, side safety flaps and safety arms protect the rider. A manual lower device (handwheel) is included for emergency use.

Pegasus Options

Commercial package

For public buildings, the commercial package includes motorized folding arms and platform, additional battery pack, audio visual alert and folding seat.

Parking

Add a parking feature at 90 or 180 degrees so the lift stops away from the stairs at the top or bottom landings.

Custom Color

The platform, carriage and rails can be ordered in a custom color, or you can order stainless steel rails alone.

Call Station

Call stations can be surface mounted, or optionally mounted on free-standing pedestals at the top and bottom landings.

Compact Drive System

A compact drive system option is available for limited space.

Additional Battery

For indoor units, a UPS back-up battery can be added to allow the lift to operate for an extended period of time. If the lift travels below an angle of 20 degrees, a stabilizer bar (horizontal rail), is required.

The on-board controls for the Savaria Pegasus lift are simple to use. Constant pressure buttons control up/down and there is an emergency stop button and keyed access.
